item upgrades of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.
For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before a component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for instance 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much it will increase after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.
In the final game you'll find that the best way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
When you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in strategic places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but you should also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different amount of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can be more expensive even if you do not require it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This can be beneficial, but shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to personalize their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or swims like dolphins). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is highly valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of a non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to go to its original state, which will force the user to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Players will still have to take every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of upgrade ingredients.
